John Krupinski is the Vice President of Finance and Controller of Esmark Steel Service Group. John has been working with Esmark since the company began operations with its first acquisition in June of 2003. He has spent the past three years leading and developing the Esmark finance and accounting department.
John has led the effort to successfully integrate the reporting of financial information of each newly acquired company into a corporate consolidated financial model. In addition, John has developed the tools used to centrally manage and monitor the collateral reporting and cash management functions. His consolidated financial model has been used to generate $172 million in equity and to secure a $75 million credit facility.
John spent 15 years in public accounting, consulting in the areas of taxation, accounting and business valuation. Due to his many years of dedication and hard work, John was eligible to become partner in a CPA firm in 1999 but chose instead to leave public accounting and begin his career in the metals industry.
Prior to joining Esmark, John spent three years as the CFO leading the finance and accounting departments of four commonly owned metal manufacturing businesses with revenues in excess of $500 million. During this time period, John developed cash flow strategies and tools used by management to successfully continue operations under extremely difficult financial and economic conditions.
John graduated from Ball State University in 1984 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting. In 1985, he became a Certified Public Accountant and in 1993 he received a Masters degree from DePaul University. He is currently a member of the Illinois CPA Society, the American Institute of CPA’s and the Turnaround Management Association.
